Highlights
When you make a reservation, you agree with our following terms and conditions:
Estimated time of arrival:
The time of arrival after 9.00 o'clock depends on the duration of our previous jobs that day. We can arrive an hour before or one hour after the agreed time of arrival.
If we arrive even sooner or later, we'll contact you about this on the day of moving.
Taxes/VAT:
All noted prices are excluding 21% VAT.
Payment:
At the end of the job, the payment should be paid in cash to the driver, unless the customer represents a company and we recieved a registration number of the Chamber of Commerce before the date of moving.
The driver can write you a receipt of the costs and VAT, you can also get an official invoice sent afterwards. Please mention.
Size van:
You can make an estimation of the size van you need. We can advice you about this by telephone.
We recommend to calculate this using our “M3 calculator” which you can find on our website.
When your estimation of the size of the van might be incorrect, we can consider to make an extra trip for you on the day of moving (you'll pay twice the fare) or possibly deploy another van if available. Whether this is possible depends on our schedule.
Sidewalk to Sidewalk Service (for students):
You can apply to the "Sidewalk to Sidewalk service" if you meet the following conditions:
- Only in the case of a student moving (consult your student pass in combination with your ID)
- Only possible with a 10m3 van
- Only possible within Amsterdam
- You don't have to pay the first hour of the driver (from the moment of arrival at the pick up address in Amsterdam). After the first hour, we charge €6.75
(€8,75 at weekends) per quarter for the driver (excl. VAT). The driver will do nothing more than driving the van.
Packing yourself/packing by us:
Your belongings should be supplied packed and transport worthy.
By request we can also (on the same day or the day before) come pack for you.
If we come packing the day before, we ask €25,- call out costs (within Amsterdam) and naturally the man-hours of our movers.
It could also be done on the same day.
We do want to know this beforehand, so we can take this into account concerning our planning.
(Dis)assembling furniture or removal of items in the way:
By request we are able to disassemble or assemble furniture. Provided you have the required tools at home.
Also windows, handrails, balustrades, or other objects that are in the way can be disassembled, removed and put back into place to make the move go smoothly, in case the required tools are provided by you.
Parking costs/fines:
The parking costs for the van(s) used for your move, are for the customer.
Sometimes we park at the sidewalk with flashing indicators, but if we are fined, it's for the client.
We can choose (in case) to park somewhere else where it is allowed, but this could mean that the movers need to walk more, which results in more man hours.
The costs of a fine can compete here.
It's your choice whether we park in front of the door (where it could not be allowed) or we park further away and need to walk more with your belongings.
We encourage you to provide parking spaces as close to your house as possible in the neighborhood.
You can also request a parking permit at your City Hall. They will then place signs so other vehicles will not be able to park there.
The request will take about a week and there are charges involved.
Insurance:
Any damage to goods or otherwise is insured, provided you have packed your belongings transport worthy, with an excess of €500,- for the customer (up to a maximum of €3.000). You can buy off this excess for €45,- if this is paid before the day of moving to 512162956 in name of “Vrachttaxi” mentioning the following: date of moving, time and pick up address. We are not insured against glass damage.
NOTE: If we hoist for you, you CAN'T buy off the excess of €500,- for the customer! Hoist rope and moving block is entirely at your own risk. Only if you use the moving lift, you can buy off the excess of €500,-.
If an exception was arranged for you in the ammount of movers that come with a van (see "Vans" under "Rates" on the website),
you can no longer use our insurance for any possible damages. Using third party helpers/movers is no problem, but you can also no longer use our insurance for any possible damages.
Quotation:
We are a moving company that operates on an hourly rate. Therefore, we do not offer a quotation.
We can make a rough estimate of the duration of the move which is not binding.
The duration of a move depends on many factors such as your preparation, from which floor level we have to move, the distance between A and B and the traffic.
Hoisting or lift:
Basically we do not move by stairs, unless there is no other option. In the latter case you'll need at least 2 movers if one of the addresses is on the first floor, or 3 movers in case of a second floor or higher.
In case of hoisting, make sure that the lifting bar is accessible on the day of the move so we can hang our ropes and moving blocks. The rope and block is free of charge if we can hoist for you.
NOTE: If we hoist for you, you CAN'T buy off the excess of €500,- for the customer! Only if you use the moving lift, you can buy off the excess of €500,-.
Placement moving lift:
The lift needs to stand at a specific area to be able to operate.
It stands 4 meters out of the wall and will take up 2,5 x 2,5 meters.
So, if you would have a sidewalk of 6.5 meters, it would fit completely on the sidewalk.
The lift can also be partly placed on a cycle path, parking space or public road, but you are responsible for keeping the space free.
The lift should also be perpendicular to the corresponding window.
Officially you need a permit for this from your City Hall.
This takes about 5 working days and there are costs involved.
If you have not requested a permit, we'll come, but it's done at your own risk.
If we would seriously interrupt traffic in the preparation of placing the lift, it is highly recommended to request a permit.
For further questions concerning this, please don't hesitate to call us.
When we are not able to put up our lift, we charge €50,- call out charge.
Special lift rate for 1 or 2 items:
This applies only on the following terms:
- If we don't have to wait on the delivery of a third party
- Only in case of one floor level
Pianos:
We do move pianos, but are not insured for this.
So we do this at your own risk.
To transport a piano from a floor level, we deploy a moving lift.
It requires 4 strong people to carry the piano up and from the moving lift and into the van.
This could be 4 of our movers, but at least 2 of our movers (and 2 you arrange yourself).
We charge €60,- extra for a piano because it is an extremely heavy object.
Cancelling:
You can only cancel the date of moving free of charge by email, at least 48 hours before the moving date. If you cancel after that time, we charge:
- Van: half of the fare
- Lift: half of the first hour + half of the call out charge
- Movers: 2 hours of man hours
Calculation man hours:
-
Within Amsterdam: The man-hours are calculated from the time they started with loading, till the unloading (down to the house if you like) is completed.
-
If either address is located outside Amsterdam: The man-hours are calculated from the time we start loading in Amsterdam (or drove away from Amsterdam), until we are back
in Amsterdam (or finished unloading in Amsterdam). If the second address is outside Amsterdam, we estimate there how long it takes to drive back to Amsterdam. This is
then expressed in man hours.
-
If both addresses are located outside Amsterdam: The man-hours are calculated from the time we drove away from Amsterdam, until we're back in Amsterdam.
-
If the second address is located outside of Amsterdam: (the address where you pay our driver), we estimate there how long it takes to drive back to Amsterdam.
Man hours weekend:
€35,- p.p. per hour.
